Journey overview
Grand Himalayan Passage is a complete exploration of northern India’s Himalayan belt, blending colonial charm, adventure, spirituality, and cultural depth.
The journey begins in Shimla, the former summer capital of British India, where Kufri’s panoramic views and Mall Road’s colonial architecture set the tone. From Shimla, the route flows into Kullu Valley and onward to Manali, where adventure activities in Solang Valley and temples enrich the experience. Leisure days in Manali allow travellers to absorb the mountain air at their own pace.
The passage continues to Dharamshala, the spiritual center of Tibetan culture, offering optional yoga retreats and visits to the Dalai Lama’s residence. Dalhousie follows, with excursions to Khajjiar - the “Mini Switzerland of India” - and scenic hikes across colonial hills.
The finale unfolds in Amritsar, where the Wagah Border ceremony and the Golden Temple provide a powerful cultural and spiritual conclusion. Jallianwala Bagh adds historical resonance before departure from Chandigarh.
Routing is carefully designed: Chandigarh to Shimla, onward to Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, and Amritsar, with balanced pacing and comfortable transfers. Ideal for families and cultural travellers, this itinerary offers both Himalayan landscapes and sacred paths.
